It is time for my NYX Cosmetics Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil review! NYX Cosmetics is stepping up their game with this “no makeup, makeup” collection with a diverse selection of Bare With Me products. One of them is the Tinted Skin Veil which comes in 12 shades! Today I’m reviewing 4 foundation shades for you and hopefully you feel the urge to try them out yourself because they are hella affordable.
The NYX Cosmetics Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil is lighter than your regular foundation but better than your BB Cream. What NYX Cosmetics wants to achieve with this range of foundation is to create skin that never looks cakey but still has the desirable coverage and hydrating that the skin needs to look healthy and glowy. Light weighted cream formula, breathable and smooth satin finish will make this your everyday base product. And it even keeps up your hydration for over more than 8 hours!
The foundation comes in a simple and clean squeeze tube that has a soft pink look. The whole Bare With Me collection has this soft pink packaging which express the natural and soft looks you can create with all the products (definitely check out their other Bare With Me products like a primer, blush stick and fixing spray).
It offers 27ml in one tube which is a reasonable amount if you look at the price tag which is aprox. €10,50 depending on where you order it from. I think it is a great price for the amount you get. With this price tag you can easily order 2 shades to see if it has the perfect match for you, that’s why it wasn’t a pain in the ass for me to get 4 of them.
They offer 12 shades which has 6 light/medium shades and 6 darker shades. The amount of shades doesn’t sound as much as we expect these days as some brands release 30 shades, but I find that NYX Cosmetics has as great ratio of lighter and darker shades in this line. I even think that the ratio is 5 lighter and 7 dark as I find shade 06 Golden Camel quite tanned.
Before we start let me tell you as always that my skin is super oily and that this review is based on my skin conditions. Therefore it can react different on your skin, which makes it even more fun and challenging for me to write this review.
As NYX Cosmetics said the Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil cannot be seen as a real foundation, but more like a BB Cream but better. It provides a fresh face with an even skin tone, skin that can still breath and looks natural and stayed hydrated all day. I was expecting something very light or even more like a tinted moisturizer, but it wasn’t!
When applying this on the skin I can immediately feel how easily it glides on your skin (fingers, sponge and flat brush). It dances on your skin and it looks like it “covers” up dry lines and patches which can be the hydration that is added into the foundation. No cakey effect but just a very luminous and natural looking skin after application. The effect was maybe a bit too light for me, but no problem: you can easily apply a second layer or just use a bit more product to get the desired coverage without looking cakey or dry.

I used the Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil on days that I just did some groceries without powder and during special events with concealer and powder. I must say that even as an oily skin girl I like the extra glow it gives my skin on those groceries days. My skin looks super natural and it has more of a “better than my own skin” look, but without noticing I’m wearing any makeup. When using it in my full makeup routine it adds this beautiful luminous look and only the parts I want to pop out are looking glowy.
It does stays hydrated more than 8 hours, but that is something I can’t really judge about as my skin produces oil after one hour. The effect of the foundation stays for quite a while without melting, at least 10 hours in my case.
Who doesn’t want to glow this summer? Last year it was all about that matte and all of the sudden everyone wants to have that oily effect that my skin produce naturally! Doesn’t matter what kind of skin you have, if even an oily skin girl like me likes this foundation, everyone probably will.
Personally I think this foundation will does wonders on dry skin as it really adds the glow and hydration. At the beginning it may looks kinda matte, but after an hour the product will activate on your skin and creates that glowy and luminous look. I’ve heard several dry skin girls talk about this product and they loved it! Which was the reason why I wanted to try it out so badly. Affordable and does the job to create that “no makeup, makeup” skin!
