A while ago I attended the Yves Saint Laurent event where they just released their newest Black Opium perfume. I went home with a massive goodie bag and I was thrilled when I saw they included the Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick. I received the shade nr. 45 which is a vibrant red/orange. This shade became my favorite and I used it for many occasions, so I thought: why not buy another one?
Yves Saint Laurent offers many great lipsticks, but this one is maybe my most favorite. They promise that their Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick collection offers great pigmentation, long lasting effect on the lips, a beautiful shine, hydrates and take care of the lips and a satin effect.
Their lipstick packaging is their most iconic branding of their makeup collection I think with the shiny tube and YSL ring around the lipstick. It is a great collectors items and the tube varies for color compared to other Volupté lipsticks (this one has a golden tube while other lipstick are silver).
I’ve ordered a second lipstick at Notino.nl because I loved the formula so much. Because I already owned a vibrant orange/red nr. 45 shade I picked a more neutral color which can be described as a soft pink/mauve tint in nr. 87. It is the perfect shade for everyday and looks like “your lips but better” color.
Just like all the Volupté lipsticks, they have a delicious soft sweet scent when you apply the lipstick. It isn’t that overwhelming as candy, but more like a subtle touch when you spray a fragranced body spray or something.
The texture of the Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick is devine: super soft like butter, glides beautiful on the skin, doesn’t leave an unpleasant feeling on the lips. Even with my dry chapped lips, I can still use this lipstick without accentuating my cracked lips. I used mine during the fotoshoot of Intratuin and I totally forgot to scrub my lips, but even then my lips looked amazing on the pictures!
The best about the Rouge Volupté Shine is that you can wear it all day without having to worry about the lipstick to fade away. Even after drinken and eating, it creates this beautiful stain on your lips that looks natural and that like you eat half of your lipstick. With a few taps on your lips with your lipstick and it looks like you just applied it!
The colors are so beautiful, I mean come one. I made the right decision to get nr. 87 because it is just perfect when you are lazy and don’t want to get all busy with a lip liner and so. The packaging is gorgeous as expected, the price you pay when you get something from Yves Saint Laurent. The texture is heavenly and your lips will thank you at the end of the day. They will stay hydrated and pigmented all day, and you might will catch something of that sweet taste/scent of the lipstick. Overall, a beautiful lipstick that will deliver you shine, hydration, pigmentation and quality.

Yessss I love those lipsticks, color nr 88 is still on my wishlist but the others that I own are absolutely lovely!
I absolutely adooooore the YSL lipsticks! they are so darn comfortable to wear and hydrating. I love both shades a ton too. I feel like the red colour is such a fresh colour that’s going to look amazing in Spring, but the nude colour is really nice too.
