Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis, The Pink & Red Edition

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis, The Pink & Red Edition

Hello gorgeous,

Today I will talk about the oh so famous Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis in the editions Pink and Red. I already reviewed two fullsize liquid lipsticks from Huda Beauty in the shade Trendsetter and Bombshell here on my blog and they are the most visited review here on my blog. It didn’t take a lot of time to think of writing a second review about Huda Beauty. I got these sets maybe almost 10 months ago but I forgot to write a review about these beauty’s, but it’s never too late! This was for me a great way to get introduced to these shades and for you to see some swatches.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Renowned for her perfect pout, Huda Kattan’s four variations of Liquid Matte Minis unite super-cute, complementary shades of her best-loved, stay-put liquid formula, to wear alone or mix and match to achieve an array of ombré and contoured effects.

The ‘Red Edition‘ also introduces a brand new metallic hue: ‘Showgirl’ is a vibrant cranberry with a show-stopping foil finish. The ‘Pink Edition‘ includes ‘Gossip Gurl’, ‘Trophy Wife’, ‘Icon’ and ‘Socialite’ (a metallic pink shade with subtle gold undertones). Each is a must for any Huda Kattan fan (or self-professed lipstick lover), these travel-sized quartets are guaranteed to please.

HOW TO USE

Huda’s tips for the perfect pout:

1. Prep your lips: To improve consistency of application, gently exfoliate with a lip scrub. Blot off any excess oils.

2. For maximum impact, line lips using the Lip Contour and fade towards the center.

3. Apply a thin layer of Liquid Matte in the corresponding or lighter shade to fill in the rest.

4. Allow approximately 30 seconds for color to set and intensify to an opaque finish. Color appearance may vary based on skin tone.

The Pink Edition

The Red Edition

The Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis are a great what to get introduced to their fullsize lipsticks. My first two lipsticks from her were Trendsetter and Bombshell, two totally different shades. I was so excited that I wanted to order some more of them. Then I found these two sets on Cult Beauty and without hesitation I purchased them.

These minis are super cute! They may look somehow very unpleasant to use but I can say that you don’t need to worry at all: they are easy to use and the grip is great when you hold it in your hand. At first I thought the amount of product was not enough but after owning them for at least 6 months now it looks like nothing has been spilled.

Let’s start with the Red Edition! The reason why I got this set was because I own only a few red and purple liquid lipsticks. The shade Famous really made me curious and became the reason why I had to get this set. The other 3 shades are not a must for me when I saw them for the first time. Showgirl has a metallic finish but if there is one thing I learned in 2017 is that not any metallic lipsticks looks great on me. Luckily the metallic finish of Showgirl was disturbingly awful. I’ve never seen such an uneven application with a metallic lipstick. I can’t say if this is the same with the fullsize metallic lipsticks from Huda Beauty but definitely don’t expect too much from the shade Showgirl.

My two top shades are Material Girl and Famous. I think it must be Famous which is the most beautiful dark powerful color I’ve ever seen and doesn’t bleed when you wear it all day. It stays beautiful on the lips without getting in the lines around your mouth and doesn’t appear dry at the and of the night. Make sure to scrub your lips when you use these dark vampy colors because your dry lips may will get more visible. I often have dry chapped lips but when I was wearing Famous during new years eve it stayed all day! Only the inside of my lips disappeared after some champagne and delicious dinner, but with just one thin layer you have it covered. Also the main reason why the lipstick is still not empty: this lipstick is so pigmented, you only need a small amount.

The Pink Edition is just gorgeous and I can recommend everyone this set (if it ever comes back on stock). When I saw the swatches on the website I immediately fell in love with Icon and Trophy Wife, look at those two! My least favorite one is Socialite because it is just like Showgirls from the Red Edition a metallic finish which never looks great on me. Here it has the same kind of problem: the finish doesn’t look even to me. Totally a personal opinion but the whole metallic lipstick will never hit me, it makes your lips look weird and especially when you have dry lips.

But he, beside the metallic finish this kit contains 3 beautiful shades. Each of them are amazing but my favorite is Icon. I can wear Icon everyday to work and still receive lovely compliments (wearing it RIGHT NOW) and it never bores me. Gossip Girl is a little bit too light for me, I think it will look better on paler skins or maybe darker ones, but to me it looks like a Barbie shade. Trophy Wife instead had a purple undertone and looks great one me! Not better than Icon but something I would definitely use on a daily basis.

Overall I’m really happy with the quality op the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis. They all smell delicious when you apply it: it has something with vanilla. I’m the worst person when it comes to describing a scent, so that is all I have to say. The finish of these liquid matte lipsticks are just divine, they dry beautiful on the lips but be sure to scrub your lips before application for that smooth effect. I never do that because I’m you typical lazy girl, but even when I don’t scrub my lips this lipstick makes me feel sexy af. The only ones I don’t love are the metallic ones but that is just a personal opinion because metallic finishes never works for me. I thin they look too flashy on me and never make my skintone look good.

These minis are a great way to get introduced to the formula of Huda Beauty and to see which kind of shade will suit you. Each of these mini’s have their fullsize lipstick, so I will absolutely get a fullsize one of the Icon shade. I can recommend the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis Red and Pink to everyone who loves liquid lipsticks. These lipsticks are a must have in your stash and I can promise you won’t be disappointed. They offer a great range of shades and sometimes Cult Beauty offers great discounts on Huda Beauty or something extra with it.

You can get your own Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis on Cult Beauty for £33.00.

Oh hello! What do you think about this post?
