Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Liner

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Liner

Hi beautiful!

Today I’m going to talk about Bobbi Brown and their new Long-Wear Waterproof Liner. I was so excited when the PR agency of Bobbi Brown contacted me with a special request. They selected me as one of the first influencers to test their new Long-Wear Waterproof Liner in a sauna! Yes, I can play with their new liner and test it to see if it’s really long-lasting and waterproof while I’m relaxing. I can’t complain right? The best thing about this eyeliner is that I’m going to test it to the ultimate: in the sauna! That’s how you see if this is really long-lasting and waterproof. Let’s get ready for sweaty selfies!

What is it

An opaque, densely-pigmented liner with all-day wear that’s gentle enough for tight-lining but strong enough to withstand a tough workout or hot, humid weather. For best results, twist product up just enough to apply—the tube will support liner for the smoothest application.

Why it’s different

This transfer-proof liner instantly forms a waterproof film that stands up to sweat, humidity, tears and more. For minimal smudging and intense definition, it’s formulated with the lowest possible level of oils and waxes—the result is pure, crisp color payoff that doesn’t fade or fall out. The pigment-rich formula glides on lids evenly for smooth, uniform application and the precise, swivel-up pencil lets you create a range of liner looks. Can be used for tightlining along the waterline.

How to use

Apply as close to the lash line as possible and line the entire length of the lid using short, even strokes.

A long wear waterproof liner is a must have for every emotional personal on this earth. Who doesn’t needs a liner that survive every weather condition or every tear? For a long time I didn’t use any liner on my waterline because I always experience racoon eyes after a while: the eyeliner always started to smudge under my eyes.

Now Bobbi Brown comes with a liner that is strong enough to hold its intensity and duration. I have to be honest, I was a bit concerned at the beginning while testing this product. The baddest thing was that they asked me to test this out while sitting at the sauna, which liner will stand that kind of heat? How am I going to tell my followers that it didn’t work out as I hoped? Well, after all it turned out AMAZING! Can’t wait to tell you what happened.

The liner is packed in a slick black twist tube. I prefer twist liners over the pencil because you never have to use a sharpener and you won’t lose any product! Most of the time when I sharpen my lipliners of eyeliners I see I spill a lot of the product. Did you know that eyeliners are the most common items to lose? Because they are so tiny and easy to roll away. Also, I experience with the drugstore and even the highend brands that the liner were broken the moment I first open it. Luckily the Bobbi Brown was unattached but I will pay attention if it starts to get fragile.

Can we have a moment to enjoy the beautiful white letters on the tube? “Bobbi Brown”  looks so expensive in the white letters with black packaging. If I could pick one shade to color all of my makeup packaging it would be black! It looks luxurious, doesn’t get dirty fast and it is sophisticated.

I received the shade Evening Sky. They offer 8 different shades, the colors really vary from green, blue and black. A blue liner is something different to me. Usually I always wear a black liner because that’s the most common color to use nearby the lash line or waterline. Sometimes I like to experiment with rare colors like a gold liner or purple, but the color blue really feels oldskool to me (like the ’90).

See here the product when I twist it open. At first sight the kohl looks really dry, don’t you think? Usually the product looks a bit more velvet but I think they did everything to make it long-lasting which may create the dry-looking kohl. But is it also dry? That is something I will tell you very soon.

Down here you see a swatch of the Evening Sky shade. Okay, the color does look a bit dry/not really pigmented. I blame it on the tip op the liner because it is still very new and I think it needs a bit more time before we hit the creamy product. The color doesn’t look that blue to me as it shows on the bottom of the twist pen, which is good! I love this color and it would look great for smokey looks and suits every eyelook.

Let’s start with my Bobbi Brown experience. Mooi PR told me that Bobbi Brown selected me as one of the influencers to test their new liner. I was so excited because I never worked with Bobbi Brown before. They only asked me one thing: if I was willing to test it out during a spa day. Okay, some people may think “Omg amazing, I will do that!” and others like me are thinking “but I didn’t wear a swimsuit in like years“. Yes, it’s been more than 4 years since I jumped in a swimsuit, not even a bikini. I’ve been really insecure about my body and now I gained a lot of weight. Sometimes there have to be the first time, so I took the step to just do it!

I booked my session at Skin & Spa + Store in Amsterdam. Let me say that this day was really intense for me: it was raining but hot at the same time like a tropical rain that day. Even in this condition my eyeliner still looked fresh. I went there with my whole bag packed with towels, flip-flops and swimsuit. I was so nervous because it was bathing suit day and I knew that there will be a lot of people. I went to the locker room and started to remove my makeup except for my eye makeup. I’m wearing the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Liner above my lash line and on my waterline. I applied the liner with short strokes to make it more intense. The waterline went more easy than I expected because usually my eyes are so wet that it won’t pick up the product. With the Bobbi Brown liner it is no problem to apply it when you have watery eyes. Beside the liner I also used waterproof mascara and false lashes, because I had to look fabulous for the pictures of course! The challenge is: will the liner survive the hot shower, steam cabin and Finnish sauna?

An hour went by with some awkward moments in the Finnish Sauna and some slippery moments in de steam cabin. Luckily it was bathing suit day otherwise I would left this place within 10 minutes. Sweat and hot showers was what my face was going through. A few times I forget that I was wearing eye makeup so I wiped my face because I couldn’t stand the heat a few times. Again, I’m a spa noobie so the heat and all the people in one small room was getting on my nerves sometimes, but after 15 minutes I could finally enjoy the moment! After one hour and some free drink and bread in the café I decided it was enough.

Before shots wearing the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof liner on the lashline and waterline

After shots, liner still looks flawless

I walked back to the locker room with the expectation that I looked like a racoon. I underwent a full hour of steam and hot water and I was really afraid that people might notice my melting liner. Guess what, it looked just the same!

No joke, I’m always a critical person and not afraid to say something bad about a product but now I can’t say anything bad. You can see it yourself. The before shots is me with full makeup and the after shots I’m only wearing my eye makeup (can we also take a look at my glowy even skin :p ). The line above my lash line looks untouched, even the color intensity hasn’t changed. My waterline still looks great with the liner, usually I get black stains underneath the lower lashline but now it still looks very fresh.

Every brand can put a label on their items with things they claim to do. The magic is if it really works as they say. Bobbi Brown claimed that this new liner was long-wear, smudge proof and transfer proof. By testing this new waterproof liner during a spa session I conquered all the conditions that could  affect the liner. This is the very first waterproof liner I’ve tried that survived all the test!

One hour in the spa didn’t harm the waterproof liner at all, in fact it looked like just the same when I applied it. I underwent a steam cabin, a hot shower and Finnish sauna and it kept in place. To me this was the ultimate test to see if Bobbi Brown really kept her words and I’m a really happy girl. there is not much to say about this liner because it really worked. Application was very easy even on the waterline. It may can cause some trouble when you use the liner for the first time because the kohl can look dry, but after a few times the tip start to get creamy. An easy twist pen is always great so you won’t need a sharpener.

I can recommend everyone this liner because I can finally say that I found a liner which will survive every unexpected moments in life like rain or tears, because I tested it in the most extreme condition. Bobbi Brown offers 8 shades, so for every one of you there will be a color that suits you. After such a long time I can finally use a liner without having to worry that I end up with dark circles under my eyes. You won’t regret it!

A big well done for being such a sport to do this test! Your pictures certainly show what amazing results you got and I shall most definitely have to note these as we have bad humidity here in the summer, this could be a great make up addition for me! Such a detailed review and again well done for the suana test. (I can’t stand Saunas so I applaud you even more!) 馃槈馃挋Kelly xx

Jeetje, dat zie je niet vaak, dat make up de sauna overleeft! Goede liner dan, alleen is het eraf halen dan ook lastig?

      Ik was net zo verrast als jij! Als je een makeupremover hebt speciaal op olie basis kan je die zo weghalen (;
