Hii everyone!
You all know how much I love super cute packaging! I’m also the kind of girl who wants the limited edition items! I’ve had too many experiences where I was too late to order a LE product…I know that you can relate to how that feels! It’s just terrible, never knowing what you missed out on, while knowing you will never get another chance! Not this time! Essence Cosmetics presented a new collection, a collaboration with 4 other Beauty Bloggers. One of them is the famous Dutch Beauty Blogger Serena Verbon! I was so excited for this pairing that I knew I absolutely had to get this collaboration item from Essence. I’m feeling very fortunate; I purchased the last one in the store. Whew! Let’s see what it is!
Serena Verbon is one of my favorite Dutch Beauty Bloggers because she stays true to herself! She and Essence worked on a small collection together with 3 other Beauty Bloggers. She created her own palette with a matching nail polish. I purchased The Glow Must Go On palette because I think it is unique and also because her bronzer is being referred to as a dupe of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick! Well then, I have to try it out right? The nail polish she created is a light Tiffany blue color, and because I already own a similar one, I only purchased the palette.
First of all, the packaging is adorable! I love the pattern and the color combination. The tiffany blue shade is the nail-polish color as well as the color of the brush included with the palette. The size of the palette is just perfection, it’s easy to take it with you on the go and it doesn’t feel bulky. This palette contains a bronzer, a highlighter and two eyeshadows. This would be THE palette (if you had to choose just one!) to take with you on your vacation this summer!
The inside looks even better than the front of the palette! I love the details and the personal finishing touch beneath the mirror (“Serena from Beautylab.nl“). It really gives me a “warm summer night in Marrakesh” feeling. It is always great when a palette contains a big clear mirror, especially when it is such cute shape like this one in Serena’s palette!
Look at this amazing bronzer named Glowing Bronzer, doesn’t it remind you of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick? It is definitely not the exact same, but the inspiration behind this bronzer and the shades are almost the same! I don’t own any Bobbi Brown products so this is a great dupe for me. The highlighter Honey Glow is the perfect white pearly color! I do think the amount of highlighter included could be a bit more generous, because we all need that radiance on our cheekbones and brow arch. It’s summer time, after all! The two eyeshadows are named Sandalwood and Cinnamon, and the colors really do match the names. I am so thrilled that she included two matte eyeshadows, it makes the palette more balanced: a glittery bronzer with a matte eye look!
There is also a little brush included in this palette. Personally, I’m not one who often uses the brushes included with palettes or quads. But I do love how it matches the color of the palette!

Glowing Bronzer, a swatch of each shade
Overall, the palette is a great item for the price! My favorite item in the Glow Must Go On palette is the bronzer because the amount of shimmer and color pigmentation is perfect. I love that is it not one color but three rows, so you can even use each shade individually. The eyeshadows are so pigmented and creamy, it’s similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows. You wouldn’t notice the difference between a high end eyeshadow and these Essence shadows. They do have a little bit of fall out. However, if you prime your eyes with the right eyeshadow primer you will not experience this problem. The highlighter is stunning! Please, Essence! Listen to me: make this highlighter a full-size item!
I am so happy that I had the opportunity to buy this palette because it is a limited edition. Wait… What!? Right as I was writing this review, Serena posted on her blog that this palette WILL be included in their permanent Essence line! Now everyone can enjoy this palette! I know that quite a few Dutch girls didn’t have the chance to buy it. I can recommend this palette to everyone, it has the perfect shades, suitable for many skintones. It is affordable for every budget and is now also permanently available for only €4,99.
For the Dutch people it is available at the Kruidvat for €4,99. This Essence palette is also available outside the Netherlands at your nearby drugstore.
